June was my birthday month and with the world going mad, there’s only one thing for it, I’m determined to celebrate everything – especially the strength of the human spirit.
Re-sparking, Reflecting & Reconnecting
This came up in conversation with a new friend – we talked about the importance of sparking ideas and inspiration, of reflection and time spent looking inward and getting people together around a shared vision.
Here’s to hope, each other and giving each day all we’ve got.

Marketer, consultant, manager, flower arrangement teacher, mother, entrepreneur, radio broadcaster…
My students come from different professions, backgrounds and countries. They’re also different ages with different stories.
The one thing that I find most, is that people always seem to find me during a transition. (one on the outside, or one on the inside.)
It’s been the greatest joy getting to know them, watching them getting to know each other and seeing them push forward. A big thank you to all who joined this celebration of their work!

Why did you sign up for these drawing classes?
I wanted to see inside of myself. The classes were recommended by my friend.
I heard what a friend had learned and wanted to experience it too.
I wanted to find another way of expressing concepts.
What did you enjoy the most?
Seeing things I’ve seen before – in a totally different way.
Meeting new friends! New styles, differences and opportunities!
Making marks, focusing on the moment and just doing it and the connection between humans and nature.
How was the teacher?
Lots of power!
Healing.
Gave us positive energy.
What’s changed after taking this course?
I used to draw a little before – but now my mind set has changed. I see things differently.
Accepting the world as it is. Trying to have a different point of view when I have difficulties.
More delight, confidence, recognition and sharing. Drawing is meditation – I’d like to recommend it as a great way of living.

Our Mural Found A Home!
VIDEO: 6 Metre Mural For Japan’s International Rose & Gardening Show 2017A big thank you to Donald and Hideo for opening up their home and beautiful rose garden to me. I made many of my preparatory drawings here, for our 6 metre mural, for Japan’s International Rose & Garden Show.
The mural now lives in the rose garden – thank you Jennie for this picture! – and if you haven’t seen this garden yet, it’s magic. I have a feeling our mural will be very happy there. You can watch a time lapse movie of the mural painting here

Since attending a few events last year, I made the decision to join RSA Japan this year – a big thank you to RSA Japan Connector, Tania Coke, for encouraging me to come and find out more!
Not only did I leave each meeting inspired and energised, but also hopeful and motivated.
Creative ideas really do empower the world.
The team has been training to explore our edges and grow, both as individuals and as a team. I’m learning a lot through the events they offer – like this one we did on Brexit and this one on Loghouse Living
